Alltwen were well beaten by a Banwen side unrecognisable from previous encounters.

Despite a gritty first half effort which saw an excellent try from returning flanker Dan Madge and extras from Jason Richards, the weight and speed of the Banwen XV eventually proved too much on the day, with the visitors achieving maximum bonus points and showing remarkable handling skills for a team at this level.

Alltwen will be licking their wounds and want to show new resolve for Saturday’s encounter at Crynant, Brian permitting. The hurricane that is, not “The Rocket” that is legendary postman Thomas.
