A fine goalkicking performance from young fly-half Liam Byrne was one of the few positives in a below par performance that saw Alltwen grind another away win at Briton Ferry.
Byrne’s 5 penalties and conversion for a 17 point personal haul proved the key difference and enabled his side, 14-11 down at half-time, to retain their 100% away record this season.
Despite this, coach Amir Hussein made clear his displeasure at the poor pre-match preparation of some players, which clearly impacted on team performance. Matters were not helped by another injury to Ceiron Daniel, with Gareth Ireland , Alex Carne and sub Nicky Chart some of the few names that emerged from the match with positive mention reference.
Next up will be Crynant at Gwyn St on Saturday. Alltwen’s home record this season is as bad as the away record is good, so hopefully we will see this change this weekend. KO 14:30
