Alltwen put themselves within a win of securing the division title, with a convincing victory over third place Ogmore Vale, in a rearranged fixture at Gwyn St.
On a beautiful evening, Alltwen exploited the conditions with a ten-try demolition job, made credible by the Garw Valley visitors refusing to throw in the towel.
With the title in smelling distance, Alltwen were not to be denied and produced another fine team effort, which included some outstanding individual performances from among others Rhodri Lewis with a hat trick of tries and man of the match Alex Carne with a brace.
Alltwen’s front row of Evans, Davies, Hopkin and sub Jones provided their side with an excellent platform throughout, with further tries ensuing for Daniel, Walters, Hopkins and Morgan before a spectacular closing effort from legendary wing Oh Gee Roderick.
Gareth Ireland ably deputising for missing goalkickers surprised himself and teammates by converting five of the tries, some of them beauties.
Victory in Alltwen’s final home game against Brackla on Saturday 29th will see them celebrate a well deserved division title. Be there
